Two exciting and important community events are just around the corner, and I am writing to enlist your support (and hopefully your attendance!) at both.
The first event is the annual Spring Fete, brought to you by the PTA and the PTSA, on Saturday night, May 5th, at Sunningdale Country Club. The Spring Fete is not only Edgemont’s largest fundraiser of the year -- it is an incredible night to be part of and a celebration of our wonderful community. If you have never been to the Spring Fete, let me encourage you to come - it is a fun and exciting evening filled with your neighbors and friends, great food, a fabulous auction, music, and more.
If you are unable to attend the Fete this year, there are other ways to participate. Take a look at the online auction. Online bidding will open a week before the event. Go to springfete.com and find out all you need to know about donating, bidding, and buying tickets.
Three days later, on Tuesday evening, May 8th, the Edgemont School Foundation will welcome back to campus David M. Solomon, Class of 1980, to present him with the inaugural Distinguished Alumni Award. Just this week, David became the sole President and Chief Operating Officer of The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. Also joining us that evening will be Scarlet Fu -- an anchor for Bloomberg Television, a current Edgemont parent, and an EHS Class of 1990 graduate. The evening will feature a lively and enlightening discussion with Mr. Solomon and Ms. Fu on important issues that face our students and the world at large.
Edgemont has no shortage of accomplished and successful alumni. Not a week goes by that I don’t hear about an alumnus accomplishing something great, in business, the arts, the sciences, and any other field imaginable. I would like to think the success of our alumni is due to our excellent faculty, our tight-knit community, and everything else that contributes to the Edgemont educational experience throughout our students’ formative years. I hope you’ll join me and the Edgemont School Foundation on May 8th at 7:30 pm in the EHS Auditorium at the inaugural Distinguished Alumni Award event. Register here.
Please support the PTA, the PTSA, and the ESF by attending one or both of these exciting events. These community groups provide critical resources to enrich the education of our students through hands-on experiences and innovative initiatives. Their contributions to our schools are only made possible as a result of your generosity.
I look forward to seeing you! Thank you, as always, for all you do.
