THE RBC EMERGING DIRECTOR PROJECT RETURNS

Dear <<First Name>>,

Submissions are officially open for the 2021 Emerging Director Project - now presented by RBC!

The RBC Emerging Director Project provides two emerging theatre directors from the Simcoe County community with the opportunity to receive unprecedented training and showcasing opportunities. This program is exclusively for emerging artists who are either studying, looking to study, or are in the early stages of their practice in theatre direction.

The selected participants begin their work with flexibly-scheduled in-class training on theatre direction. They are also connected with guest directors and artists who will share their insights with the participants.

Utilizing what they have learnt, the directors put their skills into practice by collaborating on a script by a local playwright. Performances will be presented virtually and will occur in July of 2021!

For more information, please read the media release below, or visit: www.theatrebythebay.com/directors

Deadline for submissions is February 28th, 2021!

ASPIRING PLAYWRIGHTS (AND ACTORS) UNITE!
Are you a budding playwright living in Simcoe County? Are you an actor who wants to work on cold-reading skills? Are you looking to network with local artists? On November 2nd, from 7 to 10 PM, come on out to TBTB's Barrie Theatre Lab; a once-a-month get-together for playwrights and actors to have new scenes and plays read out loud.

For this month's Lab, we will be hosting our second year of the 10-minute play challenge! We are hoping to fill the Lab with 10 minute plays. If you are a writer, this is a great challenge in precision, character creation, and story structure!
