Hi <<First Name>>,

We're nearing the end of 2021 and that means we have one more Barrie Theatre Lab coming up next week! Our final Barrie Theatre Lab of 2021 is upcoming on Monday, December 6th at the Barrie Public Library. Come join us as we ring in the end of the year with some new plays to read and discuss!

Our last Spark Session of 2021 will also take place next week, on Wednesday, December 8th. Drop in anytime between 4pm-9pm at McReilly's on Dunlop Street!

Looking ahead to the new year, for those who want to create new work in non-traditional ways, Mandy E. MacLean will be leading a workshop on Composing Work to explore methods of theatrical creation on your feet and in the room. This workshop will be great skill building for performers looking to get back into their bodies after almost two years on Zoom!

And finally, this week Theatre by the Bay announced exciting news about the 2023 season. Be sure to read the last note in this email to see which award-winning playwright will be writing for us.

As always, if you have any questions about our educational programming, I'd love to hear from you. Please email me at

See you at our next events!

Composing Work: Training for Making Decisions When Creating New Work
with Mandy E. MacLean

January 9th, 2022

Studio House (4-347 Bayfield Street), 2pm-6pm

Our first Professional Workshop of 2022 is going to be fantastic!

For those interested in creating in non-traditional ways, and those searching for new inspiration, this Composing Work workshop will be for you. Participants will be taken through exploratory exercises to examine our instincts and the tools needed to create strong proposals in the creation room. These skills will then be explored through creating our own solo theatrical material, and then material with the ensemble.

Please note that COVID-19 safety precautions will be in place, such as physical distancing. Proof of vaccination IS required for participation in this event, as per provincial guidelines.

Leah previews what you can expect in our first Professional Workshop of 2022!
