Writing with the Body

Dear <<First Name>>,

I am EXTREMELY excited for the next edition of the Professional Workshop Series. Augusto Bitter is an artist whose work I have greatly admired for some time! The last time I saw them was in the Dora-Award winning production of A Midsummer Night's Dream by Theatre Rusticle and they were truly amazing.

I cannot wait to see what Augusto has in store! You will not want to miss it!

I hope to see you on March 21st from 1- 4 PM!

Writing with the Body with Augusto Bitter
March 21st, 2021
1:00 - 4:00 PM

This workshop will guide participants through gentle, introspective exercises that can help us connect to our bodies and the stories they carry. We will write, draw, and move together, stirring up material that can be used in future creative work. This workshop will run from 1pm until about 4pm on Zoom. Participants will need a little space to move and something to write with/ on.

About the instructor:

Augusto Bitter is a Dora Award-winning performer, writer, producer, and facilitator based in Toronto, originally from Venezuela. They've been a resident artist at Canadian Stage, Aluna Theatre, Theatre Passe Muraille, and hub14. They've been an artist educator with Soulpepper and the Paprika Festival, and facilitate creative-writing workshops with Story Planet. Food is Augusto's love language.

ASPIRING PLAYWRIGHTS (AND ACTORS) UNITE!
Are you a budding playwright living in Simcoe County? Are you an actor who wants to work on cold-reading skills? Are you looking to network with local artists? On November 2nd, from 7 to 10 PM, come on out to TBTB's Barrie Theatre Lab; a once-a-month get-together for playwrights and actors to have new scenes and plays read out loud.

For this month's Lab, we will be hosting our second year of the 10-minute play challenge! We are hoping to fill the Lab with 10 minute plays. If you are a writer, this is a great challenge in precision, character creation, and story structure!
