For many, the December holidays are considered a magical time of the year... and there
is something enchanting about twinkling lights, shiny boxes, and familiar melodies. However, fiber artists take that magic to the next level: using just sticks or a hook, yarn, and a little inspiration, we can make ANYTHING. And isn't that magic?
This month at Cozy, we are celebrating the magic of making with two new trunk shows, featuring Oregon dyers and both themed to the immersive wizarding world created by author
J.K. Rowling. On
Sunday, December 8th, we are hosting an afternoon with Maryann Heryford of Salem's
Tea.Hooks. Maryann has several stunning colorways inspired by the Fantastic Beasts books and films, in addition to her other pretty yarns. The following weekend,
Saturday and Sunday, December 14th and 15th, Cozy will be receiving a traveling trunk show from Portland's
Knitted Wit, with a houseful of Hogwarts- and Harry Potter-themed sock yarns (great gifts for your favorite witches and wizards).
As a complement to the trunk shows, with a nod to the season's gift-givers, we're bringing in a selection of other tools and treasures for fiber artists: new shawl pins from
Crafty Flutterby Creations, project bags by
ErikaShmerika, and even glow-in-the-dark knitting needles (for times when
Lumos isn't working). New items will be apparating throughout the month!
