What’s Halakha Got to Do with It?
during services & after Kiddush Lunch

Halakha usually plays a major role in defining Conservative Judaism. Yet it plays a very minor role in the lives of Conservative Jews. In this talk, we will both look at other ways to define CJ, starting with its founder Zechariah Frankel, continuing with the different roles that halakha plays today in the Jewish identity of Israeli Jews and of North American Jews, and we will offer a challenge to Conservative Judaism in the 21st century.
