ON TO OTHER THINGS
Remembering Anthony Casale, a TNT recording artist who passed away August 30, 2018 while vacationing with his wife Carol in Montreal, Canada.  Anthony and Carol began square dancing eight years ago.  Anthony loved the activity so much that he went to several caller schools to learn how to become a caller.  He was very enthusiastic about his calling experience.  He had a beautiful voice which all of his dancers enjoyed hearing.  One of the things on his bucket list was to record.  He chose the song, Someday Someway (TNT 340), a tune he remembered from his college days. We are pleased to know that we helped Anthony fulfill one of his life's dreams.  Anthony, we will truly miss you.

2018 SQUARE DANCE CONVENTION
We did make it to the convention which was held in Kansas City this June.  It was a great one.

A couple of things that I observed at the convention was the music that callers were using.  For instance, the callers were using a lot of old tunes.  The other thing was seeing so many lady callers using their calling skills.  You go ladies!

We are registered for Atlanta in 2019.  Hopefully we will see you there.

CALLERLAB COMMENT

Have you checked out the CALLERLAB Sustainable Square Dancing (SSD) document.  The 47 pages are full of things that all of us callers are interested in.  It is a 12 week-50 call lesson plan.  I was surprised to find on the download that I received not only a 12 week teaching lesson plan, but that the package also included tons of singing call modules.  It is available on the internet from CALLERLAB at Sustainable Square Dancing Lesson Plan

WRAPPING IT UP

It was such a surprise this summer to get a phone call from Rebecca Trombly, Mike Trombly's daughter.  I asked how she found my phone number and she said, "while searching the web, a relative found the Coyote-TNT web site".  She informed me that she is so pleased that I am taking good care of the TNT brand.  Mike Trombly was a pioneer in recording square and round dance tunes.  He had so many talented callers and cuers recording for him.  I asked her how he recruited his talent and she said "they were mostly callers and cuers that he met at CALLERLAB and square dance conventions".

The classic TNT sound is easy to recognize.  The TNT sound somewhat changed when Tom Dillander acquired the label and it has changed some since I became the one to carry on the TNT name.  Hopefully I can help you enjoy the TNT sound for years to come.  Thanks Rebecca for your call.  Please keep in touch.

Until next time, just remember,

If The Coyote Don’t Get You, The TNT will

Sincerely,
Don Coy
