Nella Mae's Farm

Fresh, naturally-grown produce from our family farm in Cove, Oregon

Weekly Update

Hello friends,

It has been awhile.

I was lucky enough to spend a week on the San Juan river just north of Navajo Nation over spring break. The wild burros, beaver, big horn sheep, and red rock were spectacular.

When we returned to cell reception, I learned about the murder of eight people at several Asian spas in Atlanta. I am really concerned about the safety and well being of AAPI (Asian-American and Pacific Islander) folks in our community and country. I have written a blog post here about anti-Asian racism in agriculture and in our communities with more links to read essays from the people most affected by this increase in hate crimes over the last pandemic year.

Become a Vendor at the La Grande Farmers Market

Often folks think you have to have some sort of secret password to become a vendor at the farmers market. Not true! The market is open to folks who grow or make local products. You don't have to sign up for the whole season either. Come as you are with the time and products you have!

If you have something you make or grow and are interested in selling at the farmers market this year, join the Annual Vendor meeting April 9th on Zoom to learn more.
Your grateful farmer, Nella Mae

Happy little starts.
