Message from the CEO
There has been a lot of attention to Mental Health services and particularly Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) services over recent days and some of this attention relates to services and support provided through the commissioning of activities by Country SA PHN (CSAPHN) and indeed all PHNs. So the following simply describes some of our activity.

PHNs have a role in the planning and commissioning of drug and alcohol treatment services that aim to reduce harm, with a focus on methamphetamine use in the community. In 2016/17 CSAPHN has been funded $1.25 million for general AOD services and a further $500,000 for services specifically targeted for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The PHN commissions additional drug and alcohol treatment services targeting areas of need with an aim of increasing the service delivery capacity of regional drug and alcohol treatment sectors.
