New E-Learning Course Launched | On International Women’s Day (March 8), the Food Security Portal, in collaboration with the IFPRI Gender Team, launched a new e-learning course on the project-level Women’s Empowerment in Agriculture Index (pro-WEAI). The pro-WEAI, established in 2018, enables agricultural development practitioners to assess women’s empowerment in project-specific contexts in order to better design strategies to address gaps in empowerment and monitor project outcomes.
FAO Food Price Index Continues Nine-Month Climb | Food prices rose by 2.4 percent in February to reach the highest levels seen since July 2014.
Ending Hunger by 2030: Policies and Costs According to a recent policy brief produced for the Food Systems Summit, more than over 840 million people could suffer from by 2030, putting Sustainable Development Goal 2 – the eradication of hunger and malnutrition by 2030 – in serious jeopardy.
The FSP E-Learning Platform is growing! In addition to the new e-learning course on the Pro-WEIA, the platform features a course on conducting impact evaluations, with future courses covering partial and general equilibrium models, CGE models, and value chain analysis.
The Global Food Security Portal (FSP), facilitated by IFPRI and supported by the European Commission, provides up-to-date data and information to monitor global and regional food security situations and food prices, as well as tools for policy analysis and capacity development – all with the aim of providing policymakers and other stakeholders with the information they need to make appropriate and timely responses to address food insecurity.
