ASHBY: ALWAYS STRIVING TO EXCEL

Well done to everyone these past two weeks. I have enjoyed seeing student learning uploaded to Google Classroom and SEESAW each day and engaging in WebEx check ins each Tuesday and Friday. I have had some fun with games and activities undertaken in particular classes during these WebEx times. It took all my memory power to play ‘I went shopping’ with 5/6B last Friday and saving Mrs. Biscan from an ‘internet freeze’ and completing the reading of her picture storybook to Prep/One.
Well done to all recipients of the TERRI and WOW awards last Friday, we look forward to you receiving these in the post.
I would like to congratulate those students undertaking the specialists learning activities each week and uploading these online. The specialist teaching staff are spending a large amount of time preparing these lessons and we are expecting all students to complete these activities. I will be looking out for an increased number of students completing these activities this week and thank parents/carers in advance for supporting this process.
Congratulations and well done to Mr. Barclay who was again successful in another grant application. We have received $2000.00 to set up a student radio station here at Ashby and look forward to watching this unfolding in the next 12 months. Our students are very lucky to have such strong advocates for them here at Ashby attempting to identify and access learning opportunities such as this on an ongoing basis.
The final (and hopefully last) remote learning resources will be available for collection on Friday between 12:30-3:30pm. Please collect relevant packs for you children during this time from outside the hall.
