Meet the Mercaz Members: Rabbi Avi, Rachel, Michael, Noam, Maytal and Amishai Rosenfeld
Where are they from: Rachel grew up in Pittsburgh and Avi lived in Tellruide, CO, Tucson, AZ, Albuquerque, NM and Bellingham, WA while growing up.

Favorite travel memory: Meeting each other in Jerusalem.

What hobbies they're enjoying these days: Rachel is enjoying knitting legwarmers between meetings. Avi is enjoying listening to music and playing music. Maytal is enjoying drama and art class. Noam is enjoying playing Magic the Gathering and preparing for his bar mitzvah. Amishai enjoys playing with super heros and Micha is enjoying tennis and high school.

What's on their 2020 bucket list: In June they are traveling with Avi's parents and brother's family for the first time to Southwestern Colorado and Utah to check out some parks, nature and Avi's old hometown. The first time back for Avi in 16 years. On Avi's bucket list is also going to Israel and voting in the 2020 election.

What appeals to them about Mercaz: The tangible energy of individuals coming together to invest themselves in helping to build community.

Tuesday, March 10th, 2020 at 4pm. More info at To read, please sign up at that document directly, or let us know if you have any questions. Thanks!

* What do we mean by "Women's"? This reading is by and for women. This event is meant to encourage female representation in the traditional Orthodox space. In order to encourage women to participate, as of 2019, this will be a women-only space. If all the individuals reading at the Women's reading share that they are comfortable with the presence of men during the reading, this can be revisited in the future. If some or all of the readers wish to organize another mixed reading at another time during the holiday, we also welcome that. Note that for reading of other megillot, such as Megillat Ruth, we have an all-gender welcome to read/listen model.
