We have exciting news! With the blessings of the Kintzer family and members of our community, the Mercaz board of directors voted to purchase a large tent to cover the back yard. We see this as a long term investment, to increase our usable space for post-Covid programming as well as the current Covid Tefilah and the period in between. This tent will also help bridge the gap until we eventually upgrade our space. When we do, the tent will come with us to continue to provide flexibility and options for outdoor space usage.
To align with Seattle city permitting guidelines the final dimensions will be 15'x40' and our total costs will come to just under $12,000. The tent components will be fabricated over the next few weeks by a local (Tukwila) business. This will coincide meaningfully with the Torah portions describing the contributions Am Yisrael gave to the building of the Mishkan following the giving of the Torah.
