Opus Fund Services Spring 2016 Update

SALT Conference Success
Thank you to everyone who was able to attend the Opus and Friends industry events in Las Vegas during the SALT conference. These included a Cocktail Party at the Vdara Hotel, drinks and dancing at the LAVO Casino Club, and golfing at the Royal Links. In total, over 500 people attended.

Welcoming Angela Antrim
Opus welcomes Angela Antrim as leader of our global Human Resources department. Joining us after serving as Global Human Resources Business Partner for a division of SABIC (former General Electric Division) for the past nine years, Angela’s goal is to ensure that we meet our client’s high expectations by hiring the best industry professionals.

Breaking Ground
We are excited to confirm that construction has commenced on the new expanded operations offices for our Naperville, IL location. Comprising nearly 13,000 sq. ft. of prime commercial real estate, the new offices will enable the Opus team to double in size. This follows the successfully completed expansion of our Portland, OR operations offices.

Expanding the Technology Team
Our Technology Solutions team continues to expand in our Brentwood, CA location with imminent hires. The new software pipeline is a valuable advance in support of the Opus mission to be the best and most innovative hedge fund administrator.

Technological Developments
Opus’ client investor growth continues unabated with investor statements being issued for over 100,000 investors. The technology and infrastructure required for such an achievement is diverse, and includes DTCC membership and integration with AIP technology. The latter permits us to interface efficiently with custodians to allow automation of investor information flows.

Opus Client Updates & Stats

Opus Fund Services has benefited from exciting growth in 2016. As of June 1, 2016 Opus has onboarded 74 new funds, across 54 client relationships. This represents a 21% growth in the number of funds that we are servicing on the platform. As depicted in the below chart, new client activity has been diverse from an asset class and strategy perspective. 72% of total growth YTD has been within the following buckets – Public Equities and Derivatives, Private Equity/Venture Capital/Real Estate and Marketplace/Direct Lending.

In addition to new launches, Opus has also benefited from current industry opportunities to attract clients from other administrators. Our goal is to be a valuable partner to clients during all points of their life cycle and we believe we are in a strong position to continue to grow methodically into the future as a result of both launch and conversion opportunities.

Opus was proud to have been recognized for two awards thus far in 2016, including:
  • “Best Global Hedge Fund Administrator” at the Hedgeweek Awards held in London
  • “Best Debt/Loan Fund Administrator - Innovation” at the Alt Credit Awards held in NYC
