This has been another busy week of learning at Muddy Brook. We got to finish the week with a little snow, and I was very pleased to see how many students came prepared to play outside.
This brings up a couple of reminders that I would like to put out there related to winter, recess, and some other matters:
We go outside for recess in winter unless it is raining or the temperature and wind combine to create unsafe conditions for exposed skin. The recess supervisor will consult the nurse and the principal to make this determination. Children should be prepared to go outside, even on days that are as cold as 5-10 degrees. If the sun is out and the wind is favorable, we'll go outside to play.
Please label all your children's outerwear. Snow pants, coats, mittens, hats, etc., have a way of getting separated from their users at school. Having the items labeled makes it much more likely that child and mittens will be reunited.
Please take extra care during drop-off and pick-up when the temperatures are cold or after a fresh snow. Drive slowly, be patient, and don't leave vehicles unattended in the drop-off circle.
Thank you for your attention to these reminders and have a great weekend!
Timothy Lee, Principal

Fostering healthy communication with our children can build a strong connection and lay the groundwork for effectively confronting difficult issues as they come up. Join our Parent Discussion Group as we explore techniques to cultivate healthy self-esteem and build positive relations with our children.
We meet the last Wednesday of each month. Our next meeting will be November 28th at 8:15 a.m. in room 301. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet other parents and guardians as we discuss how to be a more effective listener.
When you arrive at the school, please sign in at the front office and put on a visitor badge. Walk up the stairs to the third floor. Room 301 is at the top of the stairs.
