Dear Families,
This week we welcomed almost all of you for our annual student-led showcase. Thank you for coming to school with your child to see and discuss his or her work and to set goals. We love being in conversation with you. We hope you had a chance to take a photo of your child flying the huge butterfly wings made by almost every student in the school. Thank you to Ms. Benton for designing and doing this project with students and for encouraging all of us to fly! Congratulations to all students for working hard, reflecting,  and sharing your progress.
First graders had a lovely field trip to the Mahaiwe to see a show about dinosaurs on Thursday.  Mr. Chamberlin's class also enjoyed a wonderful visit from Miyako Schonbeck's grandparents.  Her grandmother was a principal at a school in Japan and shared stories, film and artifacts about school life in Japan.  Thank you Miyako and family!
Our unicycle team is welcoming many beginners now. If your child has any interest in joining us at 8 a.m. Fridays, this is a good time to start. All you need to do is sign in with Mr. Coach as you come into the building. Let him know your child is heading to unicycling. We provide helmets and unicycles and a great atmosphere for learning a challenging skill. Parent volunteers are welcome to both help students and also learn to unicycle.
Farmers and families are ready for the snow to melt and the grass to grow. Let’s all take time to notice and enjoy the buds, flowers and grasses that will  transform our landscape in the next weeks.
