Second graders started an interdisciplinary unit about the Iditarod.
Kindergartners focused really well, and with lots of joy, to create a glorious mural of trees. This will hang in the kindergarten neighborhood for all to enjoy.
To celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday and Read Across America Day, students brought their stuffed animals to school to hear the wonderful true story of Winnie The Pooh, Finding Winnie, read by our librarian, Mrs. Melville. We also ate green eggs and ham for lunch!
Muddy Brook parent Dr. Casey Jones met with all of our prekindergarten, early kindergarten, and kindergarten students today to share her wisdom and expertise about dental health. Many thanks to Dr. Casey for volunteering and sharing professional dental hygiene tips for all!
Third graders put final touches on their writing and artwork to be hung at the Norman Rockwell museum in time for our Family Day on March 11. (Please mark your calendars if you have not already!)
Between 11 am and 3 pm, you will look forward to a nature walk, a family tour of the museum, reading Jerry Pinkney’s books and children's singing and art inspired by Jerry’s work. Students have done inspired work to prepare. Our specialist team and third grade teachers have been working with museum staff and Jerry Pinkney for months. You and your children can expect a warm welcome from museum staff, our specialist teachers, our third grade teachers, Ms. Thompson and myself. It is incredibly exciting to invite all of you to this world-class museum, with Muddy Brook students' work celebrated and on display.
Kindergarten Registration and Open House is March 15!
Cheers to all,
Mary Berle, Principal
