June 1, 2018

Dear Familes,

Thanks to all who attended PK, Ek, K and Grade 1 and 2 concerts this week! Students sang with wonderful joy and you were a fantastic audience! We see and feel the results of doubling student time on music per week over the last two years. Music is woven through our school life as singing spills into halls, classrooms, and the cafeteria. For the concert teachers accompanied on guitars, music teachers Mrs. Chirichella and Mrs. Moran played multiple instruments, and their great partnership all year working with students meant students knew and sang for us more songs than ever before. The culminating memory I will hold dearly is the pure joy students radiated as they sang for their loved ones and community.

This Friday we host our annual volunteer luncheon. If you have volunteered this year and would like to attend please let Christine Kelly know at This is a wonderful opportunity to connect at the end of the year. We are incredibly grateful for all volunteers. Your commitment helps students and our whole school thrive.

It is field trip season! Do ask your fourth graders about the Connecticut Science Museum. And ask your first graders about High Lawn Farm! On Wednesday this coming week second graders will visit Jacob's Pillow as a follow up to their in-school dance residency with Jacob's Pillow.

Many thanks to all unicyclists who rode in the Stocbridge Memorial day parade. There is a lovely picture in the Berkhire Record this week showing we were there! Also many thanks to all the parents who supported the unicycle team on parade day and all year.

Cheers to all,

Mary Berle
