Experiencing God is over. I hope God used this course to help you develop a deeper love for him and a desire to find out where he's at work so you can join him. My prayer has been that God would use this course in your life the same way he has in mine--to change the way you view God's will. It's not our job to come up with something to do for God. It's our job to find out what he's already doing around us so we can be part of something far bigger than ourselves. If God's given you this kind of vision, the course has been more than worth it!
Now that home churches are returning to normal (whatever that looks like for you), we have an opportunity to invite new people to join us. Experiencing God is a tough time to invite guests, but now's a perfect time to invite Oasis attenders who haven't become part of a home church community, yet. If that's you, I challenge you to check out one of our ten home churches this week (or next) so you can find one that works for you. Start attending before the holidays when home churches take a couple of weeks off...
We've experienced a lot of tragedy lately in our congregation. Brian and Allie Dougherty lost their 21-year-old son Tyler last month. Last week, Julie Smith's mother Suzanne died in hospice here in Tucson. Nadine Owen is grieving that her step great-granddaughter Kinsley (whom she'd been raising) has been taken back to Georgia. That's a lot of loss, pain, and grief. Let's continue to remember our spiritual family in prayer and take time to tell each of them how much you love them. That's part of what it means to be community.
On Sunday we continued our series on the Gospel of Luke with Luke 12.13-34, Securing Your Life. To hear it, check out the message online here.
