A book birthday, data privacy and a few reading recommendations
My second novel’s first birthday (25th May) coinciding with the implementation of the new EU law on data privacy prompted me to revive the newsletter, dormant since August last year.
Firstly, thanks to everyone for reading, reviewing and otherwise supporting my novel, Underneath, about a man seeking to resolve a relationship crisis by keeping a woman captive in a cellar.
Secondly, you’ve probably been inundated with emails from various organisations asking you to confirm your consent to receive communications under General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The good news is that this isn’t strictly necessary for my newsletter, since everyone receiving this has either subscribed through the sign-up form on my website or given me permission at an event to add you to the list.
The not-so-good news is that the most secure way for me to demonstrate this is if you confirm your wish to keep hearing from me. So a please-confirm-your-subscription email will follow shortly. Thank you for your support and apologies for the extra hassle.
I will not pass on your email address to third parties and you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link at the bottom of my emails or by replying to any newsletter.
Finally, my third novel is progressing and the edits for my short story anthology due to be published in November are almost complete. I hope to be able to reveal the cover in my next newsletter, along with news of a couple of other anthologies featuring one of my stories.
In the meantime, you might enjoy these small-press published novels. The links will take you to reviews on my blog.
