I TRIED THIS AT HOME : RHUBARB BLUSH
Ingredients:
1 ounce London Dry gin
1 ounce fresh-squeezed lime juice
1 ounce Aperol
1 to 2 dashes Fee Brothers Rhubarb Bitters

Notes about ingredients: I didn't use a London Dry, but this gin is an easy mixing gin, not too complex, but clean and tasty. I wouldn't use something too botanical for this recipe. Lots going on already.

Directions:
In a cocktail shaker filled half way with ice, combine the gin, lime juice, Aperol and bitters. Shake until well-chilled. Pour both cocktail and ice into a glass  (I didn't garnish - but I recommend it - orange or lemon peel)

As easy as it gets - fill the shaker, shake. I'm still pretty novice at this whole thing, I appreciate the easy cocktails.

** I made one with fresh lime, one with bottled. I could tell the difference (squeeze your lime)

Special Note: The color of this cocktail doesn't come through in the photos, but it's beautiful!

Aperol is an Italian herbal liqueur, it's both bitter and sweet. Combined with the ingredients, this cocktail is almost grapefruit in quality. You definitely get the tartness of the rhubarb, the citrus from the lime and the bitterness from the Aperol. These flavors combine flawlessly for a classic style cocktail!

4 Stars on My Scale.

Bitter liqueurs like Aperol are staples in so many "classic cocktails" These are not the syrupy tastes so many of us have become accustomed to, there is much more complexity to them.

The popularity of these classic style cocktails is growing Nationwide and we're trying to keep up with the demand and learn a bit about what people are seeking out. Bitter liqueurs, like Aperol are not just bitter, there are many sweet and distinctive flavors. Some of these liqueurs are quite exciting, some more subdued. There are so many possibilities and I'm having fun discovering them!

I'm really enjoying expanding my palate. This was a fun change from what we've been doing, I'm looking forward to using more bitters and classic ingredients in the future.

I hope you want to try some of these treats with me, I want to hear what you think - and I'm always open to suggestions for my next cocktail!
