Bandtober News!

Dear Band Families,

Congratulations to the LEE Band on earning straight 1's at UIL Marching Contest on Saturday October 19th.

On behalf of the BPA we would like to thank everyone who took part in making sure UIL send off was as perfect as can be.  Special thanks to Joe Quintanilla and Robert Gonzales for providing the grill and cooking out while the students practiced, we greatly appreciate it!

Please come out and celebrate our winning marching band season at Willie’s on Wednesday the 23rd of October! We will be at the Willie’s on 1604 and N.W. Military next to Academy. Please tell your server that you are here to support the LEE band for us to get the 15% donation from your bill.

BBQ tickets will be coming home with your student soon. Please be on the lookout for them.  We will be doing a section baskets for silent auction at the BBQ.

As the holidays approach and you are thinking of gift ideas remember our fundraising event at Kendra Scott. Nov. 20 at the Quarry location. 20% of all sales including phone sales will be donated back to LEE Band.

CONGRATULATIONS  to all of the band members for a great UIL season.  From the prop tech to the winds, percussion, and guard, this season has been a great success.  I remember when I joined the Lee team back in 2008-2009, the goal was to change the UIL results and that is what we have done.  We have scored a sweepstakes for 12 consecutive marching seasons. The kids have left a legacy of their own. I have talked to many directors around the district and they have all said, this is the best Lee band they have seen.  I am so proud of all of the students but we could not have been this successful without the help of all of our volunteers. Thank you only goes so far. Your help throughout this season made it quite the memorable one and all of this success should only be shared with you.

This weekend will be the first one the students have had off in six weeks.  It will be great to get to catch up on sleep and relaxation because they have earned it.  Please take a look at the schedule for the last three weeks of the marching season. We have one more contest at the Alamo Dome which will be incredible fun.  Getting to perform in such a big venue will last in the memories of all of the students.

We will be giving the students a well deserved break Monday afternoon.  Practices will resume starting Tuesday so we can perfect our show for the Bands of America Contest.  The drum line will be busy this week with all of the Red Ribbon Week gigs. Let’s have another great week. GO VOLS!!
