Bracken Ridge Library 30th Anniversary Celebration!
Bracken Ridge library will be bustling with activities for the whole family on Saturday 26th August as it marks its 30th Anniversary.

The library, opened in 1987 by former Lord Mayor Sallyanne Atkinson continues to bring enjoyment to residents of all ages through its excellent staff and programs.

The 30th Anniversary Celebration will be packed with activities including a free sausage sizzle, children's storytime, a Street Science show and talks from horticulturalist Annette McFarlane, the Sandgate Historical Society and the South East Queensland Astronomical Society.

Please note that some of these activities will require bookings - for more information see the schedule of events included below.

The 30 year milestone is also set to mark a new chapter for the library as Council enters the planning phase for construction of a brand new library. The new facility will house state-of-the-art technology and ensure that the library remains a vibrant hub for our community into the future.

Kerbside Collection
Council's kerbside collection is also moving toward Carseldine and Aspley, with collection beginning on 28 August and 4 September respectively.

Hope to see you at the 30th Anniversary Celebration!

Yours sincerely,
New Medical Centre for Gawain Road
The Bracken Ridge Family Practice will soon be opening its doors at the Gawain Road Shopping Complex.

The team will include experienced female and male GPs who have worked locally for over a decade. Doctors will provide a range of services including men's and women's health, immunisations, travel medicine, mental health care and provide advice on chronic health conditions.

The new facility is designed to ensure the practice is modern and purpose-built. There is ample parking on-site and online appointments can be made.

Local community heroes!
Jeremy and Allie Jucha are the proud owners of Round Table Coffee at Gawain Rd, Bracken Ridge. Aside from making a terrific coffee, Jeremy and Allie are also great contributors to our community. Throughout the year Round Table Coffee have been donating 50% of book sale proceeds to local 4017 school P&Cs. This led to an incredible donation of $422 being made to Bracken Ridge State School in May. This great initiative will continue for the rest of the year so please pop into Round Table Coffee and show your support!
Facts about the Bracken Ridge Ward
