BREAKING NEWS FROM OXFORD’S FAITH AND CIVIC LEADERS

BREAKING NEWS FROM OXFORD’S FAITH AND CIVIC LEADERS

The following statement has been issued by Oxford’s Faith and Civic Leaders, in the light of the Coronavirus Pandemic:

“There is understandably anxiety and concern regarding the impact of the Covid-19 virus. From the current advice from the Chief Medical Officer, it means that all of us, over the coming weeks and months, will need to ensure that we follow government guidelines to keep ourselves, our families and friends, safe.

“We ask everyone to be vigilant for their own health but also please look out for those who are elderly, living on their own, disabled, and who might be vulnerable. This is the moment to work together, to support each other and ensure that everyone in our communities is safe.

“We extend our deepest gratitude and thanks, to all in our health and public services; and so many individuals and groups, who have initiated community spirited initiatives, looking out for those most vulnerable in our society.

“This is also time for reflection and prayer, time to be with our loved-ones when possible, and time for prayer in the sanctuary of our homes. Through the aid of patience, love and care for each other, we will get through this.”

ENDS.
