Hello Santa Clara CWG Members,

As you may be aware, at tomorrow’s (5:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 28) Santa Clara City Council Meeting, there is the following relevant agenda item:

Action on Written Petition received from Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) regarding VTA’s BART Phase 2 Transit Oriented Communities (TOCs) Strategy Study and the Santa Clara Station Area Playbook.

This means that Council will consider if the Playbook should be considered as an official Council-approved agenda item. More information on the action on tomorrow’s Council agenda can be found at File #20-144 , Agenda item #10

If Council accepts the petition, VTA will then provide Council with an overview of the Santa Clara Playbook and request that the Council:

  • Endorse a holistic approach to creating this TOC in the City of Santa Clara and accept the Strategy Study as the appropriate beginning point

  • Direct staff to prioritize implementation of land use, infrastructure, and funding programs.

  •  Review implementation progress on a regular basis, in collaboration with VTA and other stakeholders.

As a member of the Santa Clara community, you can participate in this important stage of the discussion in person at City Hall Council Chambers, 1500 Warburton Avenue, Santa Clara. You can also participate remotely by using this link to submit a public comment in advance of the meeting.

The recommended actions in the Playbook provide a pathway to creating a great and prosperous place for your community. Thank you all for your great contributions as CWG members, and we look forward to continuing to work together!
