December 2020 Updates

No Fresh Word on 12/28

Let's stay...
Join us for the next Town Hall TOMORROW @ 6:30 PM as we close out 2020 and prepare for all 2021 has to offer. It’s the perfect time to exchange thoughts, ideas, questions, and concerns. These meetings are open to ALL LFCC Members! Click the link below or use the following to join the Zoom call: Meeting ID: 481 889 397; Password: 389436. Please be prompt and don't forget to mute your audio until you are ready to speak.
While we may not be able to gather at the altar, we can STILL unite in prayer! As you go throughout this month, please take some time to pray about the following:
  • Pray for God to continue giving us creative and affordable strategies to build meaningful relationships with current and potential members in a virtual space.
  • Pray for strength, wisdom, and patience for families adjusting to remote work or the virtual learning experience.
  • Pray for peace in our nation, pray for our president, and for state and local government.
  • Pray for peace and comfort for those who are grieving the loss of loved ones and those who are struggling with the impact of COVID-19 (ex: financial hardships, separation from family, etc).
Let's take...
The last High Holy Sunday of the year is right around the corner and we want to continue our tradition of taking communion as a family. Stop by the church on Friday, December 11 (4 PM - 6 PM) or Sunday, December 13 (9 AM - 10 AM), to receive sacraments for you and yours. On Sunday, December 13, tune in to our Facebook, Twitter, Periscope or YouTube livestream and let's worship & partake of the Lord's Supper, TOGETHER!
Didn't get to make it to the recent Encounter Sessions? Well we have a treat for you! On Monday, December 7, Deacon Apryl Evans will be highlighting some of the mental wellness strategies shared with participants. Makes plans to join us and invite a family member or friend! You don't want to miss this!
Join the Zoom
Don't forget to join us every Thursday @ 7:30 PM as we continue to pray for our nation, our city, each other, and those affected by COVID-19. Please note these calls are now being held on Zoom. As a body of believers, it's vital that we come together and pray!
PSALM 20:7
It’s easy to trust what we see. Psalm 20, however, brings up an interesting perspective. It labels facts and opinions as chariots and horses and redefines the source of our trust.
So much has happened this year. With all that we’ve personally experienced intermingled with all we hear and see in the media, we must believe that the name of the Lord, our God, trumps every fact and opinion. God is calling for our attention and trust to come back to Him. He always tells the truth.
If quarantine has shown us anything, it has shown us that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore. Put your trust in Him and watch Him prove himself to you.

Here are a few...
Community tips from health officials that may be helpful to prevent or decrease the spread of COVID-19:
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue, or your elbow, if you cough or sneeze.
  • Avoid touching your face.
  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for 20 seconds or more.
  • If no soap and water are available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
  • If you start to feel ill, contact a medical professional immediately.
  • If you feel ill or sick, stay home out of respect for those around you and to lessen the spread of illness and germs.
  • Stay up-to-date with medical professionals' suggestions on best practices and monitor communications from your local and federal health officials.
