We were grateful to connect with so many of you last year through our webinars, book club, and other activities we started to help us all remain connected while the pandemic kept us apart. Though we are eagerly awaiting the day when we can return some of our trainings to an in-person format, we are also excited to be able to keep our virtual events as a permanent - and growing - part of our work. Check out the announcements below to learn more about ARC, Inc.'s upcoming program opportunities. We hope you’ll join us!

Are you interested in helping to make sure that defenders across the country have the resources and support they need to advocate for their clients effectively? Thanks, in part, to the support we received during our matching gifts campaign in December, we have been able to start the year by recruiting for a position that will coordinate and advance all of ARC, Inc.’s educational programming. This position is an opportunity to help shape our organization's training and educational priorities for years to come.

We have announced our webinar dates for the first half of 2021, including topics for our February session.

Webinars are held at 1 p.m. Eastern and typically last around 90 minutes. To register or for more information, please visit our webinar registration page. Be sure to complete registration by 5 p.m. EST the day before the webinar you plan to attend. The link and instructions to join each webinar will be sent after registration closes.

Virtual Book Club: In the Place of Justice

Last year, we started our virtual book club as a way to help further build community during the pandemic. Since then, we have had the pleasure of interacting with participants interested in issues related to our work in a new way. We are returning with our first 2021 book club selection, In the Place of Justice by Wilbert Rideau. The author is an award-winning journalist who was sentenced to death at 19 years old. The book is a memoir of his forty-four years of incarceration and his road to redemption.

Special Guest: Wilbert Rideau

Led by an ARC, Inc. team member, we will discuss the book over the course of two meetings in March. Those participating can join the Tuesday group, which will meet on March 2nd at 8 p.m. EST or the Wednesday group, which will meet on March 3rd at 6 p.m. EST. Both groups will be combined for our second meeting on Saturday, March 20th at 2 p.m. EST when Wilbert Rideau will be joining the discussion as our special guest.
