ARC, Inc. seeks to transform the U.S. criminal justice system by providing comprehensive and accurate life history investigation to decision-makers in order to inform the fates of individuals facing the most severe penalties.
Support the work of ARC, Inc.
Giving Tuesday is less than a week away,
and this year, we're doing something different.

Instead of a single day of giving, Giving Tuesday will be the start of an end-of-year campaign to support ARC, Inc.'s efforts to train the next generation of defenders to use the best practices of mitigation to fight back against extreme sentencing. Between now and the end of the year, we hope to raise $50,000 for this purpose. It's a big goal for our little organization, but thanks to the community of support you've helped us build, we believe we can do it.

Meeting our goal will help us expand our current work and start new initiatives to train new mitigation specialists, increase the resources available to those already in the field, and build a community of learning. We'll share more details with the official launch of our campaign next Tuesday, but we hope you'll get involved by giving or spreading the word. And if you want to get a head start on showing your support, you can visit our campaign page here
New Program Launch:
Mitigator-in-Residence

We are excited to announce that Chris Chang, founder of 255 Research and Investigation is partnering with us for the launch of the Mitigator-in-Residence Program. Chris will work closely with ARC to provide professional development and mentorship opportunities to our team and assist in providing external training opportunities for the larger defense community. Critically, this program is designed to develop the skills and knowledge base needed to work on cases with international dimensions - an expertise that is greatly needed.

If you want to see this partnership in action, check out a webinar Chris and our Executive Director, Liz Vartkessian, recently conducted for the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. The webinar covers the skillset an effective mitigation specialist should have and several issues mitigation specialists commonly face while doing the work.  If you're interested in accessing this resource, please contact Daniel Weir via email at dweir@nacdl.org.

The Mitigator-in-Residence Program is made possible by a generous grant from the Vital Projects Fund.
Our very own webinar hosts, Chris Chang and Liz Vartkessian - stay tuned for more training opportunities and resources from these two.
