Announcing the
2019 Baltimore Mitigation Training Series
We are excited to announce the dates for this year's Baltimore Mitigation Training Series workshop: May 16 - 19, 2019. Registration is available here.

Mitigation investigation is a powerful tool for those seeking to disrupt the dehumanizing narratives often seen in the criminal justice system. The Baltimore Mitigation Training Series provides participants with key skills and techniques needed to conduct such an investigation effectively. The main workshop will be held at the University of Baltimore School of Law from May 17 to May 19. This program will be led by nationally recognized faculty with a heavy emphasis on issues related to trauma and mental health.

Because this is a deeper dive into such topics, we are also offering an afternoon session geared towards the foundational aspects of mitigation on the Thursday prior to the main program. The Mitigation 101 primer will be capped at 50 participants and will be held at the Annie E. Casey Foundation on May 16. It will be led by ARC, Inc. staff and its Mitigator in Residence, Christopher Chang of 255 Research and Investigation.
Training Details:
Confirmed faculty include Xavier Amador, Doug Passon, Fred Sautter, John Bessler, Pamela Leonard, Allison Redlich, Ed Ungvarsky, Joette James, Barb Picciano Caranci, Chris Chang, and ARC, Inc.'s own Elizabeth Vartkessian and Katherine Atkins.

Please join us as we open our doors to invite the community to meet our staff, learn about our work, and get engaged. This event will be an open house, so feel free to join us for as long as your schedule allows. Light refreshments will be provided.

Please RSVP here or contact Mary with any questions. Hope to see you soon!
Other Information:

Space is limited, so please let us know immediately (esf@advancechange.org) if your plans change after registering so that others interested in participating can attend.

Registration for both the main program and Mitigation 101 is free of charge. We have arranged for a group rate at nearby Candlewood Suites (101 N. Charles Street). Please indicate on your registration form if you would like to receive instructions to register under the group rate.

Please also note on your registration form if you intend to seek continuing education credit for this training. Due to the number of jurisdictions represented, we will not be able to apply to any agency or association without having received a request.
