Introducing our first Club Stories, featuring UTM Global Brigades!

UTM Global Brigades is a Global Brigades chapter at the Mississauga campus of the University of Toronto. Global Brigades mobilizes university students and healthcare professionals through skill-based programs (healthcare, business, law, engineering).UTM Global Brigades club membership grew from over 200 member last year to over 600 this past year! The group was able to raise funds and have 9 volunteers from the club join the cross-Ontario university Global Brigades network to hand out medical supplies in communities in Honduras. Amazing work!

For more information on UTM Global brigades, check out their website at www.utmgb.sa.utoronto.ca.

On March 14th, Hart House and UTM played host to 25 students from Soar: Aboriginal Youth Gathering now is its 10th year.  Coordinated by the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education, Soar provides support for students to enjoy a week in Toronto to encourage post-secondary education, physical activity and wellness. While at Soar, UTM students were treated to a lab tour, fun physical activities, a teaching circle with UTM Elder Cat Criger and a lunch where they were welcomed by Sean Kinsella.  It was an activity packed day!
