EVOLVING FAMILY ALBUM 2017
Whereas paintings take months to complete, charcoal sketches are done in one sitting. That's because they are studies of something larger. In this case, the study is on how light shone on the face affects a line drawing portrait. Alas in 2017 while I layer my way through my queued paintings, I'll understand better how to manipulate light with the economy of line.

The cabin is booked and AirBnB apartment is bookmarked, so it's official -Yosemite National Park and San Francisco here we come!! April will be the first time I've been west of the Rockies, and I'll have my favorite travel partner and artist with me: my son Eli

Portrait POP introduces adults in a one-day workshop to portrait painting in acrylic.
Always in my Heart: Portrait Drawing in Charcoal is a six week class where students use photos of loved ones as reference for portraits! Links available in Summer.
