Doncaster Bus Services Being Axed

The Doncaster Free Press yesterday reported that Doncaster is set to be hit by a wave of bus service cuts by the South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive.  This is going to leave some people who heavily rely on public transport being socially isolated and unable to travel into the town or go shopping.

Loneliness and social isolation can have a negative impact on someone's physical and mental health.  To overcome the impact of loneliness and social isolation it is important to stay connected with friends and family and by getting out and about. Also being involved in the local community can help.

Whilst Inspire Doncaster cannot provide a replacement bus service, we can help!  Our Befriending Service and Assisted Shopping Service is there to help you or your loved ones be part of the local community and provide a sense of being connected with the outside world.
