ALTA Online
Things are heating up with ALTA Online! The project calls for a high volume of photographs, graphics and illustrations that fit into specific themes, to make it a dynamic, eye-catching teaching tool. Contributions are invited from Photographers, Graphic Artists and Illustrators willing to share, royalty free, from their stock images and/or create new images. All Artists’ work will be acknowledged. Contact M’aisha at maishat@alta-tt.org.
We're also looking for someone experienced with recording and managing audio files to join the team and a diverse array of speaking voices is also required as we look to complete the development phase of ALTA Online. Both tutors and non-tutors who are interested in volunteering in either of these capacities are invited to contact Karelle at karellec@alta-tt.org.
As we wrap up development we'll be looking for interested tutors, students and friends of ALTA who would like to test the product for content and usability. If you'd like to assist with this contact Joanna at  dataofficer@alta-tt.org.

If you would like to assist with the marketing of ALTA Online, give Paige a  call (624-2582 ext 227).
ALTA welcomes the newest addition to our staff - Joanna Ming Hong. Joanna is our ALTA Online Data Officer. She started in February and her strong IT skills have been a huge help to the ALTA Online team and ALTA's POS office in general.

The sales on that day yielded approximately twelve hundred dollars which to the boys was equivalent to sponsoring two ALTA students. Continue reading.
Earlier this year Courts Trinidad & Tobago donated a brand new Acer laptop to ALTA to assist with our ALTA Online efforts! Our Office Manager Karelle and Admin Assistant, Sally were also in need of new desktops. These were graciously donated by the National Lotteries Control Board (NLCB).

We're so very grateful!

SCIENTISTS ARE now realising that reading can make you healthier and increase your lifespan. The study, led by researchers from Yale University’s School of Public Health, says that “adults who reported reading books for more than three and a half hours a week were 23 percent less likely to die over the next 12 years compared to people who didn’t read.” Continue reading.
