Program Updates

Creative Catchment Kids - The CCK books are starting to roll in and Stacee from Wirraminna Environmental Education Centre is collating all the materials and editing the content. We will soon start to see what will no doubt be the start of many books to be published under this years program.

Water in Rural Communities - The submission date for our water program, being supported by the CRDC, closed at the end of Term 2. Late entries may still be in the post and judging for this competition program will get underway in the coming weeks.

Supporting our Dairying Communities - Our dairy farmers have been having a tough time lately and we are supporting one school to tell their local story and support their community in Bemboka, NSW south east. We are donating our time to get this book published with the sales of the booklet going back to the school and community. We look forward to bringing more great news about this through social media.

Sloane's Froglet Mosaic - Check out the creation of this amazing artwork of a giant Sloane's froglet! Well done OEH, Wirraminna and Albury City for involving Thurgoona schools in this Saving our Species World Environment Day event.

Jimmy Four-Nicks - Do you love dolphins? Most of us do. Dr Kate loves them so much she identified a new species. We caught up with Dr Kate recently and found out that Jimmy and her calf Finn are going well. Jimmy Four-Nicks the Burrunan Dolphin even made it into a TedX presentation she did recently. Can't wait to see the footage of that. If you have forgotten about Jimmy, go to our library.

Gippsland Lakes App - The Gippsland Lakes Field Guide App is now available. It features more than 250 species that are commonly found (or interesting) in and around the Gippsland Lakes and their catchment. Read more.

New Resources

The 2014 Squirrel Glider books produced under the Creative Catchment Kids program have been compiled together to create one larger interactive multi-touch book about the threatened species. It is now available on iBooks.
Have you ever heard of the Corroboree Frog? It is one of Australia's iconic threatened species. Head over to iBooks for this fantastic FREE resource to find all about these little amphibians. This is a great teaching resource.
Do you live in central NSW? Would you be interested in taking your school on a cultural excursion to visit an Aboriginal site? If yes, then check out the latest project between PeeKdesigns and NSW National Parks about Boonalla Aboriginal Area, located north of Gunnedah.
