Tips & Tricks for Winter Riding

This is the last week of the Fall semester!  Starting Monday December 10th the North Campus begins their Winter Semester.  The fist month of winter semester is always a bit confusing with all the holidays so be sure to check out the full calendar above and we will also send out another emails as we get closer reminding everyone of our schedule!

If you have not yet signed up for a class for winter semester be sure to do so now by contacting the office today!!  In addition to regular academy classes be sure to take advantage of other fantastic programs we are offering:

For the younger rider who wants to spend more time in the barn learning about the horses we have a flexible after-school program that runs Mondays & Wednesdays!  Spend time in the barn (or for the winter months, inside with Kirsten learning about all sorts of fun equine and barn management related things!).

Then for the riders at Advanced Beginner Jump and above who are looking to improve their riding, gain more confidence, learn to ride the next level horses, move-up to the next jumping level class we offer an Advanced Flat Class on Friday evenings.  This is a great opportunity to work on those important skills on the flat that creates a stronger more skilled and confident rider.  This is also a fantastic opportunity for those riders looking to try out for the IEA Team in the spring to get a jump start on training with Coach Lana.

Contact the office to sign up today!
Fall 2018 Drill Team Performance
Saturday December 15th @ 6pm
Fall 2017 Drill Team Performance
Every fall and spring semester a group of dedicated Twin Lakes Farm riders come together to form the TLF Drill Team. These riders span all levels of riding starting at our Beginner Jump level all the way up to our Level 3 riders! Riders meet once a week as a team and practice all semester long to put together this performance for you!

It is truly a team effort, not only between each of the riders, but between the rider and their equine partner. These horses trust their rider to maneuver them correctly around the ring to perform the choreographed movements timed specifically to the music!

These riders have worked extremely hard and are giving us an excellent example of sportsmanship, horsemanship, teamwork, and dedication.

While the Drill Team takes a break for the Winter Semester, if your rider might be interested in the Spring 2019 Drill Team please find more information here!
Winter Break Camp
Wednesday 12/26 - Friday 12/28
Winter Camp Flier
Back by popular demand we will be running a Winter Break Camp Program!  Camp will run Wednesday the 26th through Friday the 28th!  A great holiday gift and a fantastic way for the kids to spend their time outside of school!  Continue their riding education with significant time spent in the barn learning about the horses on the ground, barn management, equine nutrition, basic first aid, and so much more!  And don't worry, there will be lots of fun indoor activities to make sure everyone stays nice and warm!

Similar to our summer camp full and half day options are available, however space is limited and priority will be given to full day campers!

Future School Break-Week Camp & Leasing Opportunities
We are proud to offer a break-week camp & leasing for the following weeks:

* February 18th - 22nd
April 15th - 19th

Please sign up with Carol!
Winter Break Week Leasing
Wednesday 12/26 - Friday 12/28 and
Saturday 12/29 - Monday 12/31
Winter Break Week Leasing Flier

Riders must be at ABJ or above and have a 30x30 Barn Badge

Similar to our winter camp we have been asked to bring back winter break week leasing and we are happy to do so!  This year leasing will run Wednesday the 26th through Friday the 28th!  However, if there is interest leasing can be extended through Monday the 31st!

Week leasing at the North Campus is a great way to work one on one with your favorite horse or pony each day.  This can not only deepen the bond your rider has with that horse, but can also help your rider grow and improve as a rider.  It is a great holiday gift and a fantastic way for the the older riders to spend their time outside of school.

Please contact Kirsten for more information and horse availability.
South Campus Show Team & Leasing

Whether you are looking for a horse for yourself to help accomplish your own riding desires or a horse/pony for your horse crazy child, we can help you out!

Leasing is a fabulous way for a rider to grow a strong partnership with just one horse that best suits them and their personal goals.   As riders progress there is opportunity for traveling the show circuit, achieving greater challenges at more extensive heights, and fulfilling that childhood dream for riders of all ages.

If you are wondering if this might be a good transition for you or your rider please contact  Kirsten for more information!
