Happy New Years everyone!  We hope you had a lovely holiday season and we thank you for your patience with our change in schedule and shifting lessons to accommodate the weather we have been having!  Hopefully the rest of this winter will be smooth sailing!  Check out more information below on the upcoming Academy School Show, Barn Management Classes, February Break Week Camp, Schedule change for Martin Luther King Day, TLF Winter Scrimmage, and Spring Drill Team information as we are all looking forward to spring!

Academy School Show
Sunday January 21st
Class List & Information
Entry Form
Join us for the second show in our Academy School Show Series!  A day filled with great riding, determination, learning, and of course fun!  We strongly believe that horse showing should not just be for those who own their own horses, which is why we love that our academy riders have a chance to horse show on one of their favorite school horses!

With a class for every level of rider within our program this is a fantastic opportunity for all of our students, whether your rider is just getting started in privates or you are an advanced adult rider!  Be sure to check the class list as we have added some new classes this year including a great variety of adult divisions, an advanced flat class, show prep class, and a fun class for the more advanced kids.

We strive to have our shows be a relaxed and fun environment for our students to learn the ropes of horse showing.  Their riding instructors will be present to help coach and to make sure students are always learning we allow time following each division where riders receive direct feedback from our esteemed USEF rated judge.

Be sure to sign up now in the office or by contacting Carol!

Riders who compete in three of the four shows in our Academy School Show Series qualify for High Point season end awards to be handed out at our famous School's Out BBQ in June!
Martin Luther King Day
Monday January 15th
Group Classes are suspended and we will be running private lessons all day!

This is a great opportunity to work on a specific skill set one on one with your instructor and is the perfect time to brush up on skills leading up to the second Academy School Show!

*Adults*  We will be running the 8pm adult flat class as normal, but please make sure to sign up with Carol as this is not part of the normal semester!

Please contact Carol to sign up for lessons or to answer any questions!
Advanced Barn Management Classes
Our Advanced Barn Management Classes for both kids and adults will be continuing throughout the winter semester!  The kids advanced barn management classes are perfect for students who have earned their 30x30 Barn Badge and are looking to continue learning about horses, horse care, health, management, basic first aid, boots & wrapping, or discuss topics covered in the ring from a biomedical perspective on the ground!

Adult Class: Sunday January 13th @ 11:30am
Kids Class: Saturday Jan 14th @ 11:30am

E-mail Carol to sign up!
TLF Scrimmage
Friday February 9th
Join us for a fun Friday evening at the barn!  This February we will be hosting a scrimmage that will give riders a taste of "catch ride" style of competition, where riders pick a random horses name out of a hat off they go into the show ring! We welcome all of our students to come and watch the show as it is a great chance for both students and parents to experience what it is like to be part of our IEA team!

If you might be interested in participating (riders of ABJ level or above) to experience the type of riding done in IEA or in many college teams, take advantage of extra showing opportunities, or just to enjoy a fabulous learning experience please contact Lana for more information!
February Break Camp & Leasing
Monday 2/19 - Friday 2/23

This year's Winter Break camp was such a success we have been asked to hold another school break camp and we are happy to deliver!  During this week group classes will be suspended and we will run private lessons throughout the day in addition to our school break camp and week leasing!

South Campus Show Team & Leasing

Whether you are looking for a horse for yourself to help accomplish your own riding desires or a horse/pony for your horse crazy child, we can help you out!

Leasing is a fabulous way for a rider to grow a strong partnership with just one horse that best suits them and their personal goals.   As riders progress there is opportunity for traveling the show circuit, achieving greater challenges at more extensive heights, and fulfilling that childhood dream for riders of all ages.
If you are wondering if this might be a good transition for you or your rider please contact Kirsten for more information!
Winter Semester Information
We know the holidays can be a bit chaotic, have no fear it is not too late to sign up for the Winter Semester!  In addition to our semester riders we continue to offer private lessons as space allows throughout the winter season!  So if you have been waiting to come to the barn now is a great time to come and see us!

Tips & Tricks for Cold Weather Riding

Important- While we hope the bad weather is behind us, please never assume TLF is closed for any reason.  This includes holidys, inclement weather, colder temperatures, or days off from school!  Please refer to the Winter Semester Calendar, call our office, or shoot Carol an email with any questions!
Spring 2018 Drill Team
After this past week it may seem as if Spring will never come, however, we promise it is not that far off!  We are already putting together an interest list for our Spring 2018 Drill Team!

Our Drill Team is a wonderful and unique experience for riders to work as part of a team to put together an intricate performance for all of us to enjoy!  If you are not familiar with our Drill Team please enjoy the video from this past Fall's performance below!
