To all friends of Spotscale,

Here's a recap of what we've been doing the last few months and where we're going in the near future!

Customer Story

Tengbom puts photorealistic 3D models to use in early stage planning

Swedish Architects Tengbom, known for their innovative use of 3D technologies, together with real estate developer Klövern are using Spotscale produced 3D models to visualize change. 3D-models are used to discuss alternatives with the municipal planning office and neighbors in upcoming renovation projects.

Sensors to increase precision

Intel Realsense

Spotscale is continiously evaluating the emerging sensor tech when hunting for perfection and quality of 3D reconstruction of the urban landscape. Recently, at CVPR we picked up an Intel real sense dev kit. Depth sensors provide a very promising track, indeed.

Research Projects

LFV, Swedish Air Navigation Service Provider simulates a future with drones

How will the future look like when drones are all over the city scape and how will the tower handle it? Spotscale is supporting a research project together with Linkoping University based on guidelines from NASA

3D reconstruction of something completely different

The Masaya Volcano

Our friend and adventurer Sam Cossman put together an expedition together with GE to make the worlds first connected volcano. The Masaya Volcano is an active volcano with a boiling lava lake threatening the nearby town of Masaya. The goal with mounting IoT-sensors and monitoring the volcano in real time is to predict eruptions as well as to spread information and experiences of a live volcano. At Spotscale we were happy to help out with 3D reconstruction of the volcano.
