Vision:  Substance Abuse Free Ontario County

Mission: To collaboratively engage, inform and unite our communities in the reduction of substance abuse through prevention efforts

 Spring 2017 Newsletter!

The Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition of Ontario County has an exciting few months ahead spreading awareness and creating positive change throughout our community.

Throughout the Spring, we will be presenting to a number of community groups to raise awareness and understanding about our Monitor, Secure and Dispose (MSD) campaign. Our presentation focuses on ensuring that all community members understand the importance of following these key steps to prevent addiction, accidental poisoning and protect the environment.

We are once again partnering with the Ontario County Sheriff's Office to host two medication take back events in April (Canandaigua Wegman) and May (Richmond Town Hall).  Please see the flyer below for more details.  Additionally, we have 12 medication drop boxes throughout the county that you can use at your convenience.

We are hosting 3 cafes during the month of March in Honeoye (3/16), Geneva (3/21) and Naples (3/23) with more to be scheduled in April and May.  Watch our website at for more events.

We are working with the P-Tech students in grades 9 and 10 to create marketing tools which will raise awareness about the dangers of Prescription Drug Abuse among youth and their families.  We are excited to showcase these products when they are finalized.

Thank you for your on-going support of our efforts.  With each step, we continue down the road of prevention in Ontario County.

In addition to the mobile take back events, we have 12 medication drop boxes serving our community.  You can drop off your medications at the above listed locations!
