« “I wish to apologize sincerely and profoundly to the survivors and their families, as well as to all those subsequently affected, for the anguish caused by the deplorable conduct of those Catholics who perpetrated mistreatment of any kind in these residential schools.” The Church was unquestionably wrong in implementing a government colonialist policy which resulted in devastation for children, families and communities.” »
On May 25th, 2021 the creation of the Laudato Si’ Action Platform was announced. The Green Churches Network is pleased to play a central role in its development. The Platform is a key Vatican initiative, built on the foundation established by partner organizations, that will empower the universal Church to achieve total sustainability in the holistic spirit of integral ecology. In creating a shared space for action, it offers new momentum to address our ecological crisis urgently and ambitiously. This is a great step forward towards the growth and development needed as we work to build a better future together.

Green churches wanted:
Since 2018, the Quebec Religious Heritage Council has organized an annual ‘Religious Heritage Days’ event, that aims to open the doors of religious buildings from different construction periods to the public. Over the past 3 years, the event has created a great opportunity for education and communication with visitors. This year, we call upon green churches to register and highlight their ecological initiatives, while educating their community about their heritage. The 4th edition of the ‘Religious Heritage Days’ event will be held on Saturday, September 11 and Sunday, September 12, 2021. Registration for the program is open until August 15 and all faith traditions are invited to register.
