We’re delighted to announce the launch of the The Hep-cast, a new seven-part podcast series focussed on the elimination of viral hepatitis.

The Hep-cast goes beyond the statistics to explore the human impact of the hepatitis C crisis, as we hear from people whose lives have been changed by the virus. Hosted by Dr Sarah Jarvis, a UK physician and health commentator, The Hep-cast profiles key advocates, doctors, public health experts and decision makers working towards hepatitis C elimination from around the globe.

Listen to the first episode of the Hep-cast and hear how our expert panel are engaging underserved communities in hepatitis C testing and care services. Our panel will share their thoughts on tackling stigma, the role of peer support and the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. We also hear from Tony, who shares his own experience of being cured of hepatitis C and how he now uses his story to encourage others to get tested.

The podcast panel features:

  • Tony McClure, Prison Team Member, Hepatitis C Trust
  • Cary James, CEO, World Hepatitis Alliance
  • Carla Treloar, Director, Centre of Social Research in Health and the Social Policy Research Centre at the University of New South Wales

A new episode of The Hep-cast will be released every two weeks and future episodes will cover topics such as: testing, treatment, prevention and elimination, so listen, share and subscribe using the links below.

We would encourage you to share your reviews and responses – we hope you enjoy listening! And use the hashtag #HepCast on social media.

Kind regards,

The World Hepatitis Alliance
