Greycliffe's north wall progress update
Progress continues on reestablishing the wall on the north side of Greycliffe. Negotiations between Dave Ball and the rim owners resulted in the ramp being sold to a corporation established by owners whose properties border the Greycliffe Quarry. The property was surveyed and it was again established that the north wall of Greycliffe was on the property originally owned by the Quarry Club and subsequently owned by Dave Ball. The sale of the ramp included a clause allowing Dave Ball to move the wall with plans to reinstall it on his property. Removal was completed at Dave Ball’s expense. Subsequent negotiations between the new owners of the ramp and Greycliffe have resulted in a permanent easement for Greycliffe to build a wall on the edge of the ramp bordering Greycliffe. As part of this easement, Greycliffe has given the Rim Owners an easement allowing them to cross over the corner of Greycliffe property outside of the gate. A contract was signed with Toledo Fence to install a new 6 foot tall fence that mimics the design of the gate at the north end of the development. This is to be installed once the concrete pad has been built by the Rim Owners at the curb edge.
At the expense of the Rim Owners Association, the electric service to the gate was moved. The fire hydrant just outside of the gate was also moved at the Rim Owners expense and the level of the storm sewer covers was redone. All of these changes were done without any financial commitment on the part of Greycliffe.
Negotiations first with Dave Ball and subsequently with the Rim Owners have been ongoing for over 2 years. It is believed that a permanent solution for placement of the wall with a lifetime easement will be completed in the next month. Landscaping and final details will be completed this fall.
