Tour DTLA for Women's History Month.

March is Women's History Month and we posted a brand new ride guide on our website to celebrate!

The Women's History Month Ride Guide is a 4.9-mile loop that connects important spaces for women throughout Downtown LA, from women-designed architecture to spaces of change for women’s rights. Check the guide on the Metro Bike Share website for more details on this route, including short descriptions about the stops along the way.

Start/End: Union Station West Portal

Length: 4.9-mile loop through Downtown LA stopping at various landmarks starting and ending at Union Station

Conditions: Easy to moderate elevation on primarily protected bike lanes in Downtown LA


  • Los Angeles Plaza Park (Maria de Lopez)
  • Biddy Mason Memorial Park (Biddy Mason)
  • California Market Center (Norma Merrick Sklarek)
  • Herald-Examiner Building (Julia Morgan)
  • Hotel Figueroa (former YMCA funded entirely by women)

Founded in 2017, Radical Adventure Riders (RAR) mission is moving towards enhancing gender inclusivity and racial equity in the bicycle and outdoor adventure scene to provide connection, education, resources, and support for the community and industry.

In 2021, RAR is expanding their grassroots connections by continuing to apply their energy to reaching more people and gaining more exposure for the movement through two programs: Publication and Chapters. In addition to this, their efforts will continue with the SJ Brooks Scholarships, swag, podcast (Launching Soon), Cycling Industry Pledge & Gravel Program.

Some of these historical figures include Rosa Parks, Coretta Scott King, Harriet Tubman, Billie Holiday, Lena Horne, Aretha Franklin, and Whitney Houston.

Covid-19 Safety Reminders

Our field staff continues to work and maintain a bike share system that is safe, clean and reliable for those who need it. Please continue to practice the following safe riding habits when using Metro Bike Share:
  • 😷 Wear a mask when in public, when using Metro Bike Share stations and while riding in places where it is consistently difficult to maintain a safe distance from others.
  • 🧼 Always wash or sanitize your hands before and after your bike rides, and avoid touching your face.
  • 📏 Practice physical distancing between yourself and others while riding and when using a bike share station.
  • 🚫 Avoid large gatherings and gatherings of mixed households.
  • 📱 Finally, to facilitate social distancing and minimize surface contact at stations, use the Metro Bike Share app to purchase passes and unlock Metro Bikes with your smartphone.
