UNH Sea Grant: Seals & Whales
Wednesday, July 20th 1:00-2:15 PM / Library Pavilion

Families / Register

We will address the following questions: How do marine mammals stay warm? How big are they? How do they eat? We will explore these questions with hands-on activities such as blubber gloves, feeding frenzy, measuring a whale. This event is for families.

Join Brianna O'Brien, Conservation Coordinator at Town of Hampton, NH as she talks about the functions of the wetland community and how we can be good stewards of that place. Q&A at the end. This event is open to adults.

Teen Event: Bike Maintenance
Friday, July 22nd 2:00-3:00 PM / Library Pavilion

Teens / Register

Teens are invited to an outdoor event with Ron Deshaies of Ocean Cycles. Ron will give a demonstration on bike safety, simple repairs, and routine maintenance. Bring your bikes and bike-related questions! This event is open to those entering 6th grade thru 12th.

Zach's Trivia Night
Thursday, July 28th 6:00-8:00 PM / Library Pavilion

Suggested age: 12 and up.

Enter as a team of 1-6 friends, coworkers or family members working together to answer questions from multiple categories. Prizes will be awarded to the top trivia teams! Pack a picnic and enjoy a night of trivia in the library pavilion! Registration is required. Suggested age: 12 and up.

Make your own pins with our button maker! Make Pride pins, sayings, emojis, animals, or make your own design! We will offer pre-made designs or art supplies. This event is open to teens entering 6th grade thru 12th grade. No registration required.

Summer Storytimes run 7/5-8/3
No Registration

Storytimes are all ages. We’ll read fun books, sing songs, and have bubbles! No registration is required. Storytimes will be held outside under the Library Pavilion. In case of severe weather, storytime will be held in the Lane Room. Check the calendar for dates and times.

Take a walk. Read a book. Have an adventure! Read Land Shark by Beth Ferry while you take a walk on the Marston School trail. Take a picture of the QR code at the end of the storywalk to have a chance to receive a special prize. The only thing Bobby wants for his birthday is a pet shark. So you can imagine his disappointment when his parents get him…a puppy.
The Dread Pirate, Lane One-Eye Nibley has hidden their treasure at the library! Pickup a treasure map at either Circulation Desks. Search for the clues hidden around the Library. Follow all the clues to the Lane's treasure and get a special prize. One prize per child.
While some events will take place indoors in the Lane Room, outdoor events will be held in the Lane Library’s Pavilion across the street from the library. When not in use for library events, the Pavilion is a space that Hampton residents, clubs and businesses can reserve for meetings and club gatherings. There are specific guidelines for reserving the Pavilion; contact the library or check the library's website for more information. The Pavilion was generously funded by the Friends of Lane Memorial Library.

Reserve the Pavilion
The pavilion can be reserved for meetings and club gatherings during times when library events are not occurring between the hours of 10:30 am-5:30 pm. Booking can be arranged by contacting the library directly at 603-926-3368. Reservations are guided by the Pavilion Use Policy. All bookings will need to complete a Pavilion Application and Temporary Use Form.
