Teen Event: Survival Island
Wednesday, July 27th 2:00-3:30 PM / Library Pavilion Register
Teens will test their ability to survive on a deserted island by exploring survival techniques at 4 different stations. Teens will learn how to make a water filter, construct a desert island pal, build a shelter for a lego mini-figure, construct a raft for a lego mini figure and test it, and finally learn morse code so they can send an SOS. This event is for those entering grade 6th through 12th grade.
Zach's Trivia Night

Suggested age: 12 and up. Registration is required
Enter as a team of 1-6 friends, coworkers or family members working together to answer questions from multiple categories. Prizes will be awarded to the top trivia teams! Pack a picnic and enjoy a night of trivia in the library pavilion!

Squam Lakes Natural Science Center - Aquatic Critters

Water is essential for life on our planet. From marshes and ponds to lakes and rivers, aquatic communities support an amazing array of life. Join a Science Center naturalist to meet three different live animals who depend on New Hampshire’s waters. Learn about their habitats, adaptations, and populations. This event is open to families.
Paws to Read with Champ!
Saturday, July 30th 1:00-2:00 PM Lane Room Registration required
Have your child practice their reading skills and gain confidence by reading aloud to Champ! Champ is the companion of Rachel Small and is a therapy dog. Children will choose their books before their session. This is specifically for K-2, ages 5-8. Registration is required for a 15 minute time slot. Please only register for one time slot.
Champ is a 100% small American Standard Poodle, which are considered to be hypoallergenic. Champ is vaccinated for Rabies, Kennel Cough, Lepto, and Lyme. He is professionally groomed monthly.
Teen Craft: Sculpture Sea Glass Craft
Tuesday, July 26th 2:00-3:00 PM / Lane Room Registration required
Sea glass is the beautiful result of broken glass being naturally polished and smoothed by the ocean's currents for extended periods of time. These beautiful jewels become weathered and frosted from abrasion and erosion in salt water, giving them a distinctly beautiful, jewel-like appearance that is perfect for all sorts of crafting! Teens will craft 3 dimensional sculptures out of sea glass. Participants can bring their own sea glass collection. Sea glass will also be provided. This event is for teens entering 6th grade thru 12th. Registration is required.
Summer Storytime with Ms. Paulina & Ms. Wendy

No Registration
Storytimes are all ages. We’ll read fun books, sing songs, and have bubbles! No registration is required. Storytimes will be held outside under the Library Pavilion. In case of severe weather, storytime will be held in the Lane Room. Check the calendar for dates and times.
Take a walk. Read a book. Have an adventure! Read Land Shark by Beth Ferry while you take a walk on the Marston School trail. Take a picture of the QR code at the end of the storywalk to have a chance to receive a special prize. The only thing Bobby wants for his birthday is a pet shark. So you can imagine his disappointment when his parents get him…a puppy.
The Dread Pirate, Lane One-Eye Nibley has hidden their treasure at the library! Pickup a treasure map at either Circulation Desks. Search for the clues hidden around the Library. Follow all the clues to the Lane's treasure and get a special prize. One prize per child.
