Issue #5

The first Kickstarter campaign in the Battlegrounds Content Drive is now LIVE!

It's taken much longer than expected to get the first Battlegrounds Games Kickstarter campaign ready, but today, it has finally launched.

I hope I can count on your support for a strong initial rush of pledges. Folks on Kickstarter are far more likely to support a campaign if they see it's already got some traction, so it is very important that the fist few days of the campaign see a lot of activity.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but because of the delays in launching due to factors that were largely beyond my control, the success of this first Kickstarter campaign has become absolutely essential to the future of Battlegrounds Games. I want to ensure the company will continue to exist so that v2 of the Battlegrounds has a chance to see the light of day. This is an important first step towards achieving that goal. I'm counting on all of you.

Now, stop whatever you're doing and go pledge!

New Newsletter Format

Since the Battlegrounds website has an all-new look, I figured it was time to also update the look of the BG Newsletters to match. Simple and clean. Hope you like it.

Battlegrounds DLC Gallery

If you haven't done so already, check out the new Battlegrounds DLC Gallery. It allows you to browse all the artpacks, adventure modules, and game conversions released for BRPG and BGE to date, whether free or commercial. Easily filter the content to focus on just those items that interest you. It's pretty slick, and is my new favorite page on the site.

Right now might be a great time to pick up some DLC at a reduced price, if you support the Kickstarter campaign.

Submit Your Ideas

What sort of content would you like to see in future Newsletters? Previews of upcoming releases? Promotional material for already-released products that you may have missed? Contests of some sort? User-submitted articles? Email your ideas. We want you to look forward to each new issue, and the best way to achieve that is to offer compelling content.

Only 5 newsletters (counting this one) have gone out in the 10 years that Battlegrounds has been in business. Expect the frequency of these Newsletters to increase, especially now that Battlegrounds is returning to full-time development. There will likely be a couple of emails going out during each of the planned Kickstarter campaigns, but when things settle down, I suspect this Newsletter will become a quarterly affair.

About This Newsletter

A lot of BRPG and BGE owners reading this might well never have returned to visit the Battlegrounds Games website or forums after their initial purchase. I strongly recommend that you do so from time to time, to keep up to date on the latest BRPG and BGE releases, submit feature requests and bug reports, and to generally help shape the evolution of BRPG and BGE with your feedback. Tell us what you like, what you don't, what you think could be improved, and what future products you would like to see made available.

For those of you who do not regularly visit the Battlegrounds Games site or forums, this Newsletter will keep you posted on important news, developments, and product releases.
