ABF EDUCATION PLAN FOR 2017
The ABF are keen to increase their efforts to help teachers. The ABF Education Programme consists of
1. Teacher Training Programmes (TTPs) to introduce new and interested teachers to successful methods of teaching bridge. (15 points)
2. A choice of three Continuing Professional Development Days (CPDs) to offer teachers new material for intermediate and advanced lessons and to further their own understanding of bridge (10 points each).
The Professional Development days available in 2017 are
- Modern Bidding Methods (10 points)
- Defence (10 points)
- Introduction to Teaching Two over One Game Force (10 points)
For teachers interested in becoming ABF accredited, the requirements are 65 points, made up of the above, and also practical classes, help with play and workshops. Feedback from and descriptions of these courses need to be sent to ABF Education administration, by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with either the feedback itself, or a summary of the course content and feedback.
Recognition of prior learning will also add to a teacher’s points towards accreditation.
I am currently looking for clubs and regions who would be interested in hosting one or more ABF Education events in 2017. Host clubs appoint a liaison person, and provide a venue to hold the day long workshops. Host clubs are also responsible for providing lunches (usually the state association will assist with the cost) and promoting the event.
The ABF will provide advertising material and assist with promotion. All of the ABF education courses are free for participants and funded by the ABF.
If you are interested in hosting an event, please email me (email@example.com)
