What you absolutely must do before it's officially fall

We're almost there; we've already had our "false fall" where we got our first glimpse of cooler fall temps, and as school begins and new routines are strategized and implemented, we start to feel the warm, laid-back beauty of summer begin to fade. But it's not over yet! Summer is officially still summer until September 22. Spend the next few weeks checking off your summer wish list items, while also preparing for a successful transition to fall.

Chaga Island Tea

Chaga mushrooms are a fungus that grows on hardwood trees in cold, northern forests, used by Russians and Scandinavians for centuries to treat everything from digestive issues to cancer. In more modern times, We had the opportunity to speak with Plainview-based Chaga Island Tea, to learn more about the health benefits of this magical mushroom elixir and why we should add it to our wellness routine.

Organic Valley Eggs

The best, most nutritious eggs come from free-range, cage-free chickens. That's why alll Organic Valley chickens have access to green, organic pastures, where they spend their days clucking, strutting, and pecking at bugs and earthworms. On rainy days, the chickens stay in the coop, but keeping them happy and healthy is still Organic Valley's highest priority.

Choose only the best eggs (from the happiest chickens!)

Eco-Friendly Back to School
Back to school shopping feels a lot better when you choose sustainable products. For lower-waste lunches, we've got Stasher silicone snack and sandwich bags; reusable snack and meal containers from Preserve; and Hydroflask stainless steel water bottles (12 oz-21 oz). Another lunchbox must-have: travel-size, organic hand sanitizer from Dr. Bronner's for cleaning hands before eating (or any other time during the day...keep those germs at bay!). And for taking notes, making lists, or jotting down dreams, we've got beautiful, eco-friendly composition books from Tree Free GreetingsGreen e-certified and made with 100% recycled materials, they're as pretty as they are functional...adults will love them, too.
Get off to a healthy school year

It's time to commit to staying healthy in whatever ways we is back in session!  Last month we recommended three supplements kids could take to boost immunity for the long year ahead. But staying healthy isn't just for kids! Here are a few of the best ways for any of us to ward off contagious critters this cold and flu season and beyond. All three can be taken preventatively (silver is best taken at the first inkling of a chink in the immunity armor)...start now for protection you can count on.
