Last year we started the project I Act: Co-designing actions supporting racial justice driving inclusive implementation science. This project aims to co-create actions for the Amsterdam Public Health research institute (APH), to promote an inclusive working climate and inclusive academic research. We could use your help!

To get a better image of where we have to focus the actions on, we want to get a better understanding of the diversity and experiences with discrimination among colleagues. We already sent out a survey within APH at the end of last year and next we would like to organize group interviews with employees. With the results of the survey and group interviews, we want to develop actions for positive change together with the APH Diversity Commission. For both the group interviews (1) and the Diversity Commission (2), we are looking for colleagues who are interested to participate.

We ask all Amsterdam UMC, VU and UvA colleagues of the Amsterdam Public Health research institute to add the research institute’s affiliation to your publications, besides the institute/department affiliation. This will improve our brand awareness and recognition of the scientific and societal efforts of Amsterdam. For the recently updated APH's affiliation instructions please visit the APH website.

The Amsterdam Public Health research institute organizes onboarding meetings for new APH researchers every three months. The main goal of the onboarding meeting is getting to know the research institute and fellow APH researchers better.

We will inform you about APH and its assets and explain how you can contribute and benefit from your affiliation to APH. It is an entertaining and diverse afternoon and a great opportunity to meet fellow APH researchers.

Next meeting: June 14, 2022  |  15:00-17:00 (on location)
