I get so excited about about Christmas! Even more so when I have to bake a batch of mince pies to photograph in their new packaging!!!!!! I have one very happy household.
This is my mum's recipe and we have been making them for more than 30 years!!!! Can you imagine making buttery pastry in the African heat!!!!
What I can say about these mince pies is that everyone loves them, even those people that don't like mince pies. You can order these as gifts or for yourself to enjoy at home.
They freeze amazingly well, and with a 5 minute blast in the oven (175 degrees) they come up as good as the day they were baked.
If you wanted to freeze them, I would recommend taking them out of the cardboard box, and placing the tray that they are in, in the freezer. Defrost, heat and then eat. Yum! Packaging comes in a half or a full dozen.
If you would like to be conscious of the environment, I am happy to refill your tray or you also are welcome to order them without any packaging.
All packaged or gift wrapped Christmas items will get a handmade gift tag too.
Mince Pies: Dozen Mince Pies in gift box $26
Half dozen Mince Pies in gift box $14
Refill or with no packaging 6 for $12, or 12 for $24
The full Christmas Menu will be out next week on Wednesday the 2oth November!!!!!! I will be taking orders and available to bake your orders up until the 20th December. If you wish to have your baking done on a particular day, it would be best to order sooner, rather than later.
Some important dates: Highbury House Christmas Market - Saturday 7th December, Hinemoa Street 9-1pm. I will be there with samples and items for sale. Christmas Baking Orders will be taken from Wednesday 20th November. Don't miss out!
All the best
