Cassville R-IV Looks to Increase PAT Participation
In an effort to increase the number of prekindergarten children served in the Cassville area, the Cassville R-IV School District has increased staff support for the program by providing two stipends for parent educators of the Parents as Teachers (PAT) program.
PAT includes Challie Allison, Special Services secretary, Nola Nickols, third grade teacher at Cassville Intermediate and Pam Ralls, preschool teacher at Cassville Primary. Both Nickols and Ralls were added as PAT parent educators in December. Allison has been serving as the PAT parent educator for over ten years.
Nickols and Ralls will continue serving in their current teaching positions with the school district and will be responsible for their PAT duties before or after school.
The PAT is a free program that provides educational services to parents and children from birth to school age. Services include home visits, group meetings, yearly screenings and educational parent resources.

Our fifth grade students, under the direction of Mrs. Long, intermediate music teacher, Ms. Pinckard, intermediate physical education teacher, and our entire fifth grade teaching team (Priscilla Craig, Jewel Farwell, Jennifer Hanson, Michelle Harvey, Tonya Varner and Tammy Wilson), did an outstanding job performing The Nutcracker for our students, staff, parents and community members. Our students spent months preparing for this performance and it was evident! Avery Chappell played Marie and Kayden Fuchs played the nutcracker.
We loved seeing our primary and intermediate families during our Christmas Family Fun Night. Save the date! Our next Family Fun Night will take place on February 2!
